The Vibease Ruby is, interesting. There are many toys that have this similar ‘tickler’ design, but the Ruby had been fully designed beautifully. It’s a gorgeous piece to look at, but that’s about where the praise stops.
The Ruby is made of a silky smooth silicone. The main body of the toy is firmer while the 2 silicone ear pieces are more flexible and squishy. The base of the toy is chiseled to be similar to that of a gem, or ruby (hence the name), which makes the whole toy easy to hold onto.
While in use, the ears are actually quite disappointing. Yes they flutter and buzz as expected, but for something that goes against the delicate skin of the labia, they aren’t as soft as they should be. The tips are very nice as pinpoint stimulation against the clitoris and the nipples, but accidentally press too hard, or slip a bit, and you’ll find yourself getting jabbed in a not so pleasant manner.
You charge it via USB jack plug, which is located on the side of the toy, and the base flashes when charging. It takes about an hour to charge, but on a full charge, you can use it for up to 3 hours! From an outsiders perspective, that may seem amazing, but as soon as you turn it on and feel the hand numbing buzz, you can immediately tell why the battery life is so long.
For a toy that’s almost $70, I’d definitely expect a better motor. The motor within this toy is similar to your run of the mill bullet, which is much cheaper, and will give you the same results. You could even spend about $10 and get something like the Tango, which has an incredible motor, and won’t make your clit numb. However, the motor in the Ruby does make the pinpoint stimulation quite nice. I wouldn’t scoff at someone using this toy on me for some serious foreplay.
The various patterns are actually pretty nice. If the toy had a better motor, I would definitely say that these are some of my favorite vibration patterns I’ve experienced. There are a grand total of 7 options, 3 of which are just different intensities. You to cycle through them by pressing the very small, and difficult to feel, power button (shown in the first image).
Some of the things that you can do with this toy, besides using the quivering ears, is using it just like a regular ol’ bullet. If you turn it on it’s side, with the ears pressed together against your body, you can use the end of the base (where the motor is).
While this toy isn’t something I would recommend for someone who enjoys rumble vibes, I would have to say that it is quite versatile. Unfortunately, the motor quality does not line up with the price point of a toy like this, but it’s still a good option for a body safe, rechargeable, beautifully designed, toy.
